Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology

Gynecologic problems can occur in females of all ages. Our goal is to empower parents, young girls and teens to address their healthcare concerns in a sensitive manner through education and skilled healthcare. Our providers diagnose, treat and manage medical and surgical issues, including:

  • Abnormalities of the reproductive tract
  • Breast problems
  • Contraception
  • Early or late puberty
  • Endometriosis
  • Labial adhesions
  • Menstrual problems
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Pelvic pain
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
  • Sexually transmitted infections
  • Vulvar and vaginal issues

Other services include:

  • Insertion of long-acting reversible contraceptives (implants and IUDs)
  • Initial reproductive health visits, ages 13-15 years
  • Menstrual management/suppression in younger females with special needs

Tots to Teens

Crozer-Keystone’s Tots to Teens Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology program addresses the gynecologic needs of newborns, teenagers and young women up to 25 years old. Tots to Teens provides an interdisciplinary medical team, including gynecologists and adolescent medicine specialists, that collaborates with patients’ primary care providers.

The Tots to Teens program is a collaborative effort between the Pediatrics and OB/GYN departments of Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Established in 2009 by Crozer-Keystone physicians Rima Himelstein, M.D., FAAP, adolescent medicine; and Karen Simon, M.D., FACOG, OB/GYN, the Tots to Teens program is a collaborative effort between the Pediatrics and OB/GYN Departments of Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Services are available to females, from newborns to 25 years old.
