According to the American Cancer Society, lung cancer is the second most common cancer diagnosed in men and women in the United States, accounting for about 13 percent of all new cancers. Lung cancer accounts for about 27 percent of all cancer deaths and is the leading cause of cancer deaths among men and women. The average age of a person who is diagnosed with lung cancer is 70 years old.

Crozer-Keystone Health System's multidisciplinary team of lung cancer care specialists provide prevention, diagnostic, treatment and support services for patients diagnosed with lung cancer.

Cutting Edge Diagnostic Technologies

In addition to traditional diagnostic methods, including tissue biopsy, bronchoscopy and lung PET-CT scans, Crozer-Keystone offers Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy (ENB), a minimally-invasive procedure to locate, enable biopsy and plan treatment for lung lesions detected deep in the lung that cannot be seen or reached using conventional bronchoscopy. Crozer-Keystone also is a Center of Excellence for lung screening and offers a Lung Screening Program using low-dose CT scans. The program follows the high risk inclusion criteria as established by the National Lung Cancer Screening Trial.
