Working with You
Springfield Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs are designed to reduce symptoms, increase activity and help patients make informed lifestyle choices to improve their health. Our dedicated rehabilitation staff members supervise each patient’s session — including monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, cardiac rhythm and oxygen saturation as needed.
The care team is comprised of registered nurses specializing in cardiac rehabilitation, registered respiratory therapists specializing in pulmonary rehabilitation, and physicians. Because we emphasize a collaborative approach, patients are encouraged to participate in improving their health and can expect to:
- Become physically stronger
- Quit smoking
- Improve nutrition
- Better understand their disease and treatment
- Improve breathing techniques
- Understand their risk for further health problems
- Increase participation in the activities of daily living
