This week, Crozer-Keystone Health System is again proud to observe and celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 23-29, by honoring its volunteers, a dedicated group of over 200 people who play a valuable role in the health system’s hospitals and facilities.

“I think that I speak for everyone within Crozer-Keystone when I say that we wholeheartedly agree with the theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week, which is ‘Volunteers Make the World a Brighter Place,” says Janet Kalup, director of Volunteer Services for Crozer-Keystone Health System. “Most volunteers will tell you that the main reason they volunteer is because it gives them the ability to help other people. Each and every day, they make things better, and more comfortable, for our patients.”

Crozer-Keystone volunteers work in a range of departments, including the gift shops, information desks, pediatrics, admissions, escort services, cancer centers and many others. Volunteers also serve as “friendly patient visitors” and greeters.

The majority of Crozer-Keystone’s dedicated volunteers are recent retirees and local students. They all bring their personal experiences and personalities to their position, creating outstanding experiences for our patients, according to Kalup.

“Thank you, all of you, for your dedication and commitment to the Crozer-Keystone Health System. You are the best of the best,” Kalup says.

Kalup is always looking for new volunteers to add to the team. To learn more about Crozer-Keystone’s volunteers and how to join them, visit
