David Hadley, M.D., Crozer-Keystone OB/GYN and director of the health system’s OB/GYN Residency Program, recently received the Physician Service Excellence Award for the third quarter from the Crozer-Keystone Health System.

This award recognizes the physician who demonstrates commitment and outstanding patient care as indicated by patient satisfaction scores and Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and System scores, commonly known as HCAHPS.

“The committee reviews various patient satisfaction tools and recognizes the physician with the highest overall scores with a plaque recognizing the physician for upholding the patient experience in the highest regards,” said Jeffrey Nachman, M.D.; chair of the Physician Service Excellence Committee for Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Springfield Hospital and Taylor Hospital. Nachman is also the medical director of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Crozer and Springfield.

The HCAHPS initiative aims to provide a standardized survey instrument and data collection for measuring patients' perspectives on hospital care. The survey is a core set of questions combined with hospital-specific items sent to patients to measure customer service and satisfaction while at a Crozer-Keystone facility.

“Patient care is very important to me and being recognized as a leader in the patient experience means a lot. I will share this award with my partners and office staff because without them, I would not have been considered for the award,” says Hadley. “I also feel that working closely with our OB/GYN residents helps me focus on quality patient care because we spend a lot of time teaching them how to be good physicians.”
