Taylor’s Holobowicz Named Linen Coordinator of the Year
RIDLEY PARK, Pa. – Aston resident Ann Holobowicz, linen supervisor at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, was recently named Linen Coordinator of the Year by the hospital’s linen supply partner Hospital Central Services (HCSC). Holobowicz was chosen from among a group of 125 potential recipients for this award, which recognized her ongoing efforts and cooperation with HCSC in maintaining a quality, cost-effective linen program. She was presented with a certificate of recognition and a financial contribution to Taylor for her outstanding work.
Holobowicz, who also oversees Supply Processing and Distribution (SPD) for Taylor Hospital, has spent the last 35 years of her career at Taylor, where an estimated 498,707 pounds of clean laundry are delivered each year. In that role, she works closely with nursing and other hospital departments to reduce linen losses and ensure that stock levels are properly organized and maintained. She also provides leadership on the Crozer-Keystone Health System (CKHS) Linen Committee, where she shares with representatives from other Crozer-Keystone hospitals the cost-containment and process improvements she has implemented at Taylor Hospital, such as Taylor’s bulk locker program to manage the distribution of scrubs and prevent losses.
Holobowicz received high praise from her immediate supervisor, Cindy Law, R.N., B.S.N., M.B.A., clinical director of Perioperative Services at Taylor Hospital, who stated, “Ann’s commitment to excellence is apparent in every aspect of her work. She is a true steward of resources and is respected by her employees, her peers and leadership throughout the system. Her attention to detail and follow-through on the many items under her direction allow for Taylor Hospital to function at its best.”
Holobowicz, who has also been honored in the past as Manager of the Quarter at Taylor, says she “was very honored and taken aback” to be recognized by HCSC with the linen award. She noted that she has worked “very hard” to keep linen losses to a minimum and ensure that processes are running smoothly to support the very best patient care. “It’s a small department and we all work together,” she says.
Bill Moyer, vice president of Marketing and Service at HCSC, thanked Holobowicz for her dedication and support.
“HCSC’s Linen Excellence awards are designed to recognize hospital representatives who go above and beyond to help encourage and promote continuing linen cost management efforts on the part of our member hospitals,” Moyer said. “When this ongoing process becomes successful, the healthcare facility’s goals align with HCSC’s, since the more efficiently an organization's linen supply chain becomes, the more effectively HCSC can operate our business to serve the facility.”
