Deborah Jackson, BSN, RN, Named Clinical Director of the Medical/Surgical Behavioral Health Unit at Crozer-Chester Medical Center

Deborah Jackson, BSN, RN, has been named Clinical Director of the Medical/Surgical Behavioral Health Unit at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. She will continue her role as coordinator for the Care Giver Support Team and the leader of the PCT Professional Development.

Jackson, who is a graduate of Immaculata University (Summa Cum Laude), is a Chester native. She first worked for Crozer-Chester Medical Center as a unit clerk before pursing her degree in nursing.

She has previously held leadership positions with George Washington University Hospital in DC, Atwater Rehabilitation Center in Atwater Ca. and ManorCare in Largo Md. 

“I am excited to continue the advancement and collaboration I have with the Medical/Surgical Behavioral Health Unit. I was promoted to shift manager in 2011 and was instrumental in setting up the unit when it was initially opened. The Medical/Surgical Behavioral Health Unit promotes a therapeutic environment for other units and safety for those that need the more monitoring,” says Jackson.

“Deborah has been instrumental in organizing and developing the Medical/Surgical Behavioral Health Unit within Crozer-Chester Medical Center and promoting it throughout the system allowing us to safely care for patients with targeted behavioral health needs while medically ill. She is an asset to the unit and her team,” says Eileen Young, M.S.N., R.N., Crozer-Keystone Health System's Chief Nursing Officer.

Jackson also serves as the president of Health and Wellness Ministry at Bethany Baptist Church in Chester and is a member of the Chester Health Advisory Board. She is very active in the community promoting healthy living and preventative care giving flu shots and attending health fairs.

The Medical/Surgical Behavioral Health Unit provides care to patients with acute medical/surgical diagnosis with accompanying behavioral issues.
