RIDLEY PARK, Pa. – Rehab nurse Alexandra Milnes, B.S.N., R.N., C.R.R.N., of Upper Chichester, was selected as Taylor Hospital’s Employee of the Month for February. She has been a part of the Crozer-Keystone family since March 2011.

In receiving the award, Milnes was recognized by Alisha Hartunian, M.S.N., R.N., nurse director of the Rehab Unit at Taylor Hospital, for her dedication to both her patients and her peers. “Allie is always looking for a way to improve current practices to enhance both the patient experience as well as the caregiver experience,” Hartunian says. “She demonstrates continuous creativity and focus on improvement.”

Milnes is also “recognized and spoken of as a true leader,” Hartunian adds. For example, as co-chair of the Crozer-Keystone Health System Rehab Unit Council, she has been active in helping nurses to collaborate and identify strategies to improve nursing practices in the unit, hospital, and across the health system. Also, Milnes, who is currently working toward her master’s degree, inspires others to advance in their education and knowledge, Hartunian says.

“I could not do what I do without the support of the Rehab team,” Milnes says of receiving the hospital award. “I accept this award on behalf of all of my team members who make doing what we do not only easier but enjoyable!” One of her favorite aspects of her work, Milnes says, is getting to know the patients. “I love watching their progress as they reach their goals to go home and be as independent as possible.”
