says Giordano. “Being a manager with system-wide responsibilities, I am not able to spend all my time at Taylor. But everyone at Taylor has accepted me as part of the team, and they make working at Taylor a pleasurable experience. To have the Taylor staff recognize me as manager of the quarter is an honor, and it definitely solidified my role as part of the Taylor team.

“Each day I come to work I have the same thought, which is I hope that I provide my staff with the best tools possible for a safe, reliable and high-quality work environment,” continues Giordano. “The work we do in the lab can have a direct impact on a patient’s treatment, and patient safety is our ultimate goal. I try to lead by example. I make myself approachable and I listen to what the employees have to say. I am always willing to help out in the lab or in any other departments in the hospital, and I have the same expectations for my staff. I don’t believe in the ‘that’s not my job’ mentality, and try to reinforce that we should always be willing to help even if it is something that we don’t routinely handle. We are all supposed to be working toward the same goal to provide the best patient outcome.”

Taylor Hospital has been a member of the Crozer-Keystone Health System since 1997. Each year, Taylor admits more than 7,000 patients and receives more than 18,000 Emergency Department visits. For more information about Taylor Hospital or Crozer-Keystone, visit
