Matthew Alias, D.O.
Crozer-Keystone Health Network is proud to welcome board-certified neurologist Mathew N. Alias, D.O., to Neurological Associates of Delaware Valley.
Dr. Alias is an attending physician at Crozer-Keystone’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center and at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. He specializes in Parkinson’s disease, a typical Parkinsonism, dystonia, essential tremor, disturbances of gait, and stroke.
He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. He also is a member of the Movement Disorders Society and the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Alias is currently conducting research into Parkinson's disease and dystonia. Previously, he co-authored a paper in the journal Connecticut Medicine on the therapeutic time window for IV thrombolytic treatment after an acute ischemic stroke (AIS). He also participated in six research studies, including “Parkinsonism after Hymenoptera Sting” as reported in the June 2013 edition of the Journal of Neurology.
Dr. Alias earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (cum laude) from University of New York at New Paltz.
He served an internship in internal medicine, and was chief resident in neurology at the University of Connecticut Health Center/Hartford Hospital. He also was a Movement Disorders Fellow at Lahey Clinic at Tufts University School of Medicine before joining Neurology Associates of Delaware Valley.
Trained in Deep Brain Stimulation treatment for Parkinson’s and administration of botulinum toxin for dystonia, Dr. Alias holds admissions privileges at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial, Hospital, Springfield Hospital and Taylor Hospital.
