RIDLEY PARK, Pa – For the third year in a row, the practice of Mukesh A. Patel, M.D., Taylor primary care physician, was one of only 125 practices in the region to achieve a No. 1 ranking in the Independence Blue Cross Practice Quality Assessment Score (PQAS) program. This comprehensive ranking system reviews quality measures and member satisfaction regarding multiple aspects of the physician’s office. Patel’s office is located in Prospect Park.

“It is an honor for our practice to receive this distinction, once again,” Patel says. “I am proud of the hard work and dedication that our office staff delivers to our patients on a day-to-day basis.”

Practices that are recognized through the PQAS program have achieved excellence in the following areas:

  • childhood immunizations
  • cancer prevention in the areas of cervical cancer screening, colon and rectal cancer screening, and breast cancer screening
  • diabetes care (HbA1C testing, LDL-C testing, eye exam rates, and nephropathy screening)
  • heart care (cholesterol management for patients with cardiovascular conditions)
  • asthma care (use of control medications for patients with chronic persistent asthma)
  • well-child visits.

“We are committed to providing high-quality care to our patients,” adds Patel. “Our practice works together diligently to ensure that every patient experiences a safe, quick and efficient visit. We are dedicated to providing the tools necessary for all aspects of the patient’s care.”
