Cervical Cancer caused 4,070 deaths in 2009. An eight-year trial conducted in India has shown that screening for cervical cancer with a single round of human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing halved the rate of advanced cervical cancers and deaths from cervical cancer. You should get a yearly pap test and HPV screening to check for any abnormalities of the cervix.
