One Born Every Minute: A New Contest for CKHS Moms and Babies

Crozer-Keystone moms are proud of their newest additions, and now, a new promotion with Lifetime Television gives them a chance to brag a little — in a marketing campaign. Moms can enter photos of their babies online, which will give them a chance to win prizes and showcase their biggest treasures.

“We see this as an innovative way to celebrate an exciting moment and share it with the community,” says Thomas Bader, M.D., chairman of the OB/GYN Department at Crozer- Chester Medical Center.

The new campaign is also a way to showcase the health system’s excellent maternity services. “I’ve been at Crozer now for 10 months and a number of things have impressed me about the obstetrical services,” Bader says. “Crozer is large enough to offer all the services that a new mom and her family need around the clock, but we’re small enough that people feel they’re getting personal care. We have a highly experienced staff that’s committed to women’s health.”

The “best of both worlds” quality is also true of Delaware County Memorial Hospital, where moms can access a continuum of choices. “Here you have the warmth of a community hospital and the safety of the tertiary care center,” says Rebecca Choitz, CNM, director of Midwifery Services for Crozer-Keystone Health System. “DCMH offers a lot of options—someone who wants very little intervention can work with a midwife. At the same time we have an operating room and intensive care nursery with neonatal practitioners on site 24 hours a day. It’s comforting to know that if in fact you need anything for your safety or the baby’s, those choices are available to you.”

“If those Crozer-Keystone babies (and their moms) are smiling for the camera, it probably has something to do with the ‘personal connection,’” says Joseph Grover, M.D., chairman of the OB/GYN Department at DCMH. “The advantage we offer is a personal level of care,” he says. “Everybody knows everybody, which means we have much better coordination of care, and that also allows us to really connect with our patients and create the best possible experience for moms.”
