Life for Bob, Lois and Josephine was getting a little tough. Scheduling medical appointments, finding the right physicians and becoming overwhelmed with plans to sell a home. These were just a few of the problems that they were faced with daily.

With the help of Crozer-Keystone Village (CK Village), life for these three people got a little easier.

“I can’t say enough good things about this program,” says Lois Clearfield, a Darby senior citizen who is trying to sell her house to move to Florida. “Everyday, I looked around and it made me so upset just thinking about all the things I had to do to sell my house. I live on my own, and that made it even more difficult. But the wonderful people who work with CK Village came right in and started clearing out my clutter. It made me feel great knowing that these people were here to help me. They made my house look the way it used to!”

Josephine DeLauretis agrees. She says, “The CK Village has helped me out in more ways than one. I am Italian and sometimes have trouble understanding and speaking English, and they have helped me to schedule my doctor’s appointments, set up transportation to and from, pay bills and took care of some insurance issued that I had.”

CK Village, a program of CKHS’s Senior Health Services, provides access to a community of health and wellness services, including trusted Crozer-Keystone affiliated service providers ready to make life easier for active adults age 50 and over. As the largest healthcare provider in Delaware County, Crozer-Keystone Health System has the unique ability to help our CK Village members more easily access and coordinate the healthcare and daily support services they need.

“I am really glad that I joined CK Village,” says Bob Kerns, who needed a little help with physical therapy. “My navigator set up my appointments with a physical therapist that they recommended, and I couldn’t be happier with it. On top of that, they also recommended a great plumber who really helped me out as well.”

In addition to the other services, Kerns has also attended classes at Widener University’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at a discounted price. The Lifelong Learning Institute is an academic cooperative that provides mature adults with opportunities for intellectual development, cultural stimulation and social interaction.

Single memberships are also available for $25 per month.

“It’s worth the money,” adds Kearns. “This program can really help you out in any way that you need it. It’s a tremendous asset for aging people who would still like to remain independent.”
