Chester Youth Council
This is one area within the larger city-wide initiative known as the Chester Youth Collaborative. In operation since 2005, the Youth Council works to change perceptions about Chester young people and inspire their civic engagement. Young adults ages 12 to 22 can become members by completing 80 hours of baseline training. Once inducted, Youth Council members are assigned to teams that work on projects such as community revitalization efforts, the annual Chester Youth Empowerment Summit, and Chester youth discussion forums, while continuing to train throughout the year. In Fiscal Year 2013, there were 25 Council members.
