Colorectal Cancer Education and Awareness Events

Crozer-Keystone Health System has planned a range of activities in March to raise awareness and provide education about the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer.

The Preventable Cancer

Wednesday, March 15

A free presentation, “The Preventable Cancer,” will be offered at Haverford Township Free Library, 1601 Darby Rd. in Havertown at 7 p.m. Speaker will be Patti Hollenback, R.N., Crozer-Keystone nurse navigator.

Colorectal Cancer: The Preventable Disease

Wednesday, March 22

A free and interactive presentation, “Colorectal Cancer: The Preventable Disease,” will be offered at Crozer-Keystone at Broomall at 6 p.m. Learn more about colorectal cancer, how it can be prevented, screening options and more from Monica Zeitz, M.D., Crozer-Keystone gastroenterologist; Hollenback; and Kate Kortum, American Cancer Society. A pizza dinner will be offered for attendees a 5:30 p.m. Registration is required for this event.

Crozer-Keystone Health System will host two free comprehensive screening events this spring:

Upcoming Events

  • Diabetes Evaluation - Small Group

    Small group instruction and overview of diabetes; causes, symptoms, recommended action for hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia; benefits of exercise; overview of medications and foot care.

  • Gentle Yoga for Cancer Patients and Caregivers

    Gentle Yoga, held weekly, is for cancer patients and their caregivers. Classes are low-impact and include meditation, stretches and seated movements.

  • Diabetes Nutrition Counseling

    The Diabetes Nutrition Counseling at The Center for Diabetes provides a comprehensive review and discussion to help patients understand and manage their diabetes through healthy eating.

  • Cardiovascular Update 2017

    This comprehensive continuing medical education features presentations on a range of topics related to caring for patients with cardiovascular conditions.
