About Crozer-Keystone Health System
Crozer-Keystone Health System was established in 1990 by the merger of Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland and Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill. Today, the health system comprises five hospitals: Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Delaware County Memorial Hospital, as well as Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, Springfield Hospital in Springfield, and Community Hospital in Chester. In addition, the health system operates several outpatient centers, the Healthplex® Sports Club , and a comprehensive physician network of primary-care and specialty practices. The health system provides a full spectrum of wellness, prevention, acute care, rehabilitation and restorative care to the community.
The system includes a Level 2 trauma center; a regional burn center; three regional cancer centers affiliated with Fox Chase Cancer Center; a fertility center; sleep-disorders centers; wound care centers with hyperbaric medicine; comprehensive maternity services, including intensive care nurseries and maternal fetal medicine; a kidney transplant center; advanced heart care services, including open heart surgery; orthopedic services, sports medicine and physical therapy and rehabilitation services; senior health services; a bariatric surgery program; medical imaging services; and much more.
A leader in community health, Crozer-Keystone provides services and programs that meet the medical and social needs of thousands of Delaware County’s residents each year. With more than 1,000 physicians and 6,000 total employees, Crozer-Keystone is the largest employer and healthcare provider in Delaware County. Crozer-Keystone is also a vital part of the business community, as a provider of occupational health services and a member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.
Crozer-Keystone is also a supporter of evidence-based medicine (EBM), which utilizes universally accepted “best medical practices” to treat a variety of conditions and diseases, such as heart attack and stroke.
In addition, the health system is an advocate of important healthcare issues set forth by the American Hospital Association, the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, and the Delaware Valley Healthcare Council.
In July 2016, Crozer-Keystone Health System was acquired by Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. The health system's partnership with Prospect will ensure even greater access to quality care in our community. Prospect will make capital investments in the health system that will dramatically increase our ability to modernize, attract more patients and expand service to the community.
