Aquatic Therapy

Patients with a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological problems may benefit from exercising in the water. The buoyancy resulting from immersion decreases compressive forces on the joints of the lower extremities and spine. The water also provides resistance to movement. Range of motion, strengthening, and general conditioning exercises are performed according to the patient’s ability.
