Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission

Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial Hospital and Taylor Hospital have each earned disease-specific certification in hip and knee replacement surgery by The Joint Commission. This means that the programs have met the highest national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes and satisfaction for joint replacement patients.

To earn this distinction, a disease management program undergoes an extensive on-site evaluation by a team of Joint Commission reviewers every two years. Certification demonstrates compliance with the most stringent standards of performance as well as a commitment to patient safety and providing quality care to patients.

Free Joint Replacement Education Classes

Patients who are having, or considering having, joint replacement surgery at a Crozer-Keystone hospital (Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial Hospital or Taylor Hospital) should attend one of the free, pre-operative joint replacement education classes held at each site.

Joint replacement education classes inform patients of all the important details that they need to know before, the day of, and after their procedure. Covered topics include what to bring to the hospital, pre-surgery exercises, pain education, equipment that may be used during the hospital stay, the in-hospital rehabilitation process, and how to prepare the home for recovery.
