The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that approximately 19 million new cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are diagnosed every year. Although nearly half of the people diagnosed are between the ages of 15 and 24, STDs affect all age groups across all socioeconomic groups.
