Breast Health Services at DCMH
The Center for Breast Health at Delaware County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) is dedicated to the detection and timely treatment of breast disease and breast cancer. Led by Allison A. Aggon, D.O., the Center for Breast Health is created especially for women to be treated by experienced, caring staff.
The Center for Breast Health, located on the first floor of DCMH's Medical Office Building in Drexel Hill, PA, provides state-of-the-art care for women with breast problems in a respectful, thorough, thoughtful and calm manner.
The Woman's Diagnostic Center, located steps away on the lower level of the Medical Office Building, performs diagnostic tests, such as screening and diagnostic digital mammography, breast ultrasound and breast MRI.
DCMH has access to cancer treatment and prevention clinical trials through its partnership with Fox Chase Cancer Center.

We offer the following comprehensive services:
- Evaluation of all types of breast concerns by a breast specialist with coordination of care, including breast lump, abnormal mammogram and ultrasound findings, breast cancer, family history of breast cancer, other risk factors for breast cancer, other breast concerns.
- Support from DCMH's breast health navigator, Alicia McCann, R.N.
- Patient education, screening and counseling
- Genetic counseling for those who may be at risk for developing cancer
- Stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy, cyst aspirations and fine-needle aspiration biopsies.
Most breast problems are not cause for alarm. However, when a woman finds a lump or has an abnormal mammogram, she wants to be seen by a specialist right away. Patients diagnosed with breast cancer have easy access to on-site state-of-the-art radiation therapy services and medical oncology services provided by physicians specially trained in the treatment of breast cancer. Our special team of physicians and nurse practitioners provides care with the reassurance, sensitivity and education about options, and helps women anticipate the physical and emotional aspects of their treatment that sometimes, only another woman can truly understand.
Allison A. Aggon, D.O., a board-certified surgeon received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in General Surgery at Pinnacle Health Hospitals. She completed a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
Deborah Markiewicz, M.D., is a breast radiation oncologist at DCMH who is board-certified in Radiation Oncology and specializes in the treatment of breast cancer. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, and completed her residency and fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Breast Health Navigator
As part of its commitment to providing the best possible care for patients, Delaware County Memorial Hospital offers a Breast Health Navigator. Alicia McCann, R.N. is available to provide patients with education, support and resources, as well as to help them overcome any barriers that may prevent them from getting the services they need.
These services are complimentary - there is no charge to patients or their insurance carriers.
