Philosophy Of Care

The patient takes first priority in everything I do. When I see the patient, they are the most important person for me at that time, no matter what other issues are there. I believe in the mind, body and soul connection. This improves patient confidence and motivates them to get better.

These are the priorities in my practice:

  • Accommodating my patient's scheduling needs - whenever possible
  • Building a long-term patient-doctor relationship
  • Carefully listening to my patient's needs, questions and concerns
  • Empathizing with my patients
  • Including the entire family in patient healthcare delivery

I believe in the importance of these factors in the care of my patients:

  • Being sensitive to my patient's pain threshold
  • Coordinating with non-traditional therapies
  • Dealing with complex medical problems
  • Recognizing the mind-body connection in wellness and the treatment of disease
  • Stressing exercise as important in wellness

Other Training

  • Resident at Medical City Teaching Hospital, Iraq
  • Research Fellow for the Cardeza Foundation at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA (1987-1989)
