Over 350 people, including cancer survivors and their family members, came out to “celebrate life” at the Crozer-Keystone Cancer Survivors Day event held at the Springfield County Club on Monday, June 6. The event included speeches from several cancer survivors and presentations from physicians, including Mylene Go, M.D., Associates in Hematology and Oncology; Brian Wojciechowski, M.D., Alliance Cancer Specialist; and John David Sprandio Jr., M.D., Consultants in Medical Oncology and Hematology.

Marie DeStefano R.N., M.S.N., F.A.A.M.A., senior administrative director of oncology at Crozer-Keystone Health System, served as master of ceremonies.

The program featured performances by Danielle Tumminelli and Kristina Psitos. Patient Survivor awards were presented to Beth Gamber and Cindy Wassell. Community Achievement Awards were given to Slacks Hoagie Shack and Iron Hill Restaurant in Media. Other speakers included cancer survivors Debbi Tascone, C. Edward Lorenz and Richard Stenko. At the conclusion of the ceremony there was a candlelight celebration with a special guest appearance by the Quaker City String Band.
