Joyann Kroser, M.D., gastroenterologist for the Crozer-Keystone Health System, was recently named president-elect of the Delaware County Medical Society (DCMS).

Kroser received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, she completed an internship and residency (and was chief resident) at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Kroser also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Kroser has practiced gastroenterology for over 20 years and has extensive experience in ambulatory endoscopy and video capsule endoscopy. Part of the Crozer-Keystone Gastroenterology Associates practice, she has special interests in the gastrointestinal health of women and elderly, including colon cancer prevention and the treatment of pelvic floor disorders.

Kroser previously has served as a member of the DCMS and a Delegate to the Pennsylvania Medical Society and to the American Medical Association. She also previously served as President of the Philadelphia County Medical Society before moving to Delaware County and joining the Crozer-Keystone Health Network.

The DCMS is a professional organization for physicians (medical and osteopathic doctors) and is affiliated with the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) and the American Medical Association (AMA). Kroser will be the 144th physician president of the society, which was established in 1850 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1938.

DCMS members either live or practice in Delaware County and are of all medical and surgical specialties. They are also in a wide variety of practice modalities, including employed physicians, private practice physicians and those in administrative, research and academic positions.
