DREXEL HILL, PA – Crozer-Keystone Health System is pleased to announce that the physicians of Suburban Gastroenterology Associates have joined the Crozer-Keystone Health Network and are accepting new patients.

The practice comprises board-certified and fellowship trained gastroenterologists Mark Jacobs, M.D.; David Furman, M.D.; Sumita Mehta, M.D.; Steven Nussbaum, M.D. and Rita Ritsema, M.D. Suburban Gastroenterology Associates offers services to comprehensively diagnose, manage and treat gastrointestinal and digestive conditions. This includes colonoscopy, endoscopy, upper and lower GI studies, swallowing studies, Endosocopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound and capsule endoscopy.

For more than 40 years, the physicians of Suburban Gastroenterology Associates have worked to improve the quality of life for people throughout Delaware County and beyond. Their patient-focused and compassionate approach are evidenced by a longstanding history of excellence in the care of upper and lower gastroenterology disorders.

Mark Jacobs, M.D. earned his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md. He completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as chief special fellow.

David Furman, M.D. earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, Boston. He completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology from the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md.

Sumita Mehta, M.D. earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, in Grenada, British West Indies. She completed her fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY.

Steven Nussbaum, M.D. earned his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. He completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Veterans Administration Hospital, Washington D.C.

Rita Ritsema, M.D. earned her medical degree from Boston University, Boston. She completed her fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia.

Suburban Gastroenterology Associates is located at 1010 West Chester Pike, Suite 202, Havertown. The physicians also perform procedures at the Crozer-Keystone Surgery Center at Haverford, 2010 West Chester Pike, Suite 212, Havertown. Call (610) 789-3510 for an appointment.
