SPRINGFIELD, Pa— The Crozer-Keystone Health Network is pleased to announce that Charles M. Geller, M.D. has joined the practice of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons of Delaware County and is accepting new patients.

As Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery for the Crozer-Keystone Health System, Dr. Geller specializes in complex adult cardiac surgery. He is nationally recognized for his expertise and has consistently achieved outstanding results in the areas of: 

  • On and off pump coronary bypass surgery with multi -arterial revascularization
  • Aortic valve replacement and repair
  • Aortic root reconstruction and Ross Procedure
  • Ascending aorta and arch reconstruction
  • Mitral valve repair and replacement
  • Minimally invasive cardiac surgery
  • Radiofrequency and cryoablation to treat atrial fibrillation (Maze Procedure)

Dr. Geller graduated summa cum laude from the combined six-year medical education program at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. He completed his general surgery residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, and his cardiothoracic residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, where he served as chief resident of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He joins Crozer-Keystone after four years of practice at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY, and 16 years at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, NY, where he also served as Director of the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Geller is an educator as well as a clinician. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and over 30 national society presentations, and will serve as a Professor of Surgery at Temple University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Cardiology and American College of Chest Physicians. 

Building on a long history of excellence in cardiovascular care at Crozer-Keystone, Dr. Geller’s new leadership and vision promise to enhance the health system’s nationally known and recognized cardiac program. He has introduced the Heart Team concept consisting of highly skilled and compassionate primary and interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, and the patient and their family, working together to create a unique treatment plan in order to ensure the best possible results.
