DREXEL HILL, PA – The Crozer-Keystone Health Network is pleased to welcome surgeon Allison Aggon, D.O. to The Center for Breast Health at Delaware County Memorial Hospital (DCMH). Aggon completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center and her general surgery residency at Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg. She earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

“I have been living in and around the Philadelphia area for the last decade. I’m very excited to be part of The Center for Breast Health team, and I look forward to further advancing our role within the community,” says Aggon, who is now accepting new patients.

Her areas of particular interest include high-risk patients with a family or personal history of breast or ovarian cancer, and working with plastic surgeons specializing in breast reconstruction following mastectomy.

Aggon’s philosophy of care combines compassion and highly specialized training with a focus on each individual patient’s needs. “I prioritize patients’ health while allowing them to feel at ease and informed throughout the treatment process,” she says.

The comprehensive Center for Breast Health offers evaluation; clinical services; patient education, screening and counseling; genetic counseling; surgical procedures, including biopsy and cyst aspiration; and state-of-the-art radiation therapy and medical oncology services.

Aggon points out that the Center welcomes patients with any type of breast concern, both related and unrelated to cancer. “We have a full complement of services to help women, extremely experienced staff, and an active support group for patients,” she says.

Aggon has been working closely with the Center’s medical director, Thomas Matulewski, M.D., as she has transitioned into her new role. “I’m extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Matulewski,” she says. “He has done a spectacular job with the Center for Breast Health, making it the valuable resource it is today.”

Matulewski feels that Aggon will comfortably step into her new role. “Within the first ten minutes of meeting her, I recognized Dr. Aggon’s compassion and confidence,” he says. “I knew that she was the individual who could compliment the program and become an essential player at the Center for Breast Health. When I discussed her abilities with the surgeons who trained her at Fox Chase, they were so impressed with her that they wished they could have had a place for her there.

“I welcome Dr. Aggon to the Crozer-Keystone Health System,” Matulewski concludes. “I am amazed at her maturity to step into the program as if she were here for years.”
