RIDLEY PARK, Pa. – Telemetry nurse Deneen Dettmann, R.N., of Ridley Park, was recently selected as Taylor Hospital’s Employee of the Month for January. She has been a part of the Taylor family since June 1999.
In receiving this award, Dettmann was recognized for her pleasant demeanor, strong work ethic and compassionate care approach.
“Deneen has a way of skillfully caring for her patients while exuding a demeanor of trust, confidence and compassion,” says Bonita Ball, M.S.N., R.N., nurse director of the ICU at Taylor Hospital. “Our Telemetry team and patients both benefit from this exceptional employee.”
As a telemetry nurse, Dettmann cares for patients primarily in Taylor’s cardiac and stroke unit. She is also cross-trained in a number of other hospital departments, including the Emergency Department and PACU (post anesthesia care unit).
“I enjoy what I do, I enjoy taking care of patients, and I enjoy the nurses I work with,” says Dettmann, who is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing degree (B.S.N.) from Chamberlain College of Nursing and plans to go on for a master’s degree next. “I was taken aback,” she says of receiving the Employee of the Month honor. “I did not expect it.”
