Marcin Jankowski, D.O. Named Medical Director of Trauma Program at Crozer-Chester Medical Center
Marcin Jankowski, D.O.
Marcin Jankowski, D.O. has been named medical director of the Trauma Program at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, a state-designated level II trauma center that has served Delaware County for over 25 years.
Jankowski is a fellowship trained trauma/critical care surgeon and acute care surgeon with extensive experience in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care. He has been a Crozer-Keystone trauma surgeon for over three years and has served as interim director during the past year.

I look forward to working closely with all members of our dedicated multi-disciplinary team as we continue to provide effective and efficient quality trauma care to our community. As a local and regional trauma center, I feel it is our responsibility to also provide our community with service by building and developing various educational opportunities and programs that focus on injury prevention and safety. As always, our mission is to provide our patients with compassionate care from time of admission until discharge while offering constant support and guidance to their family, friends and loved ones,” says Jankowski.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa., and completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md.
Jankowski received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa., where he also completed his internship and residency in general surgery. He received his fellowship training in surgical critical care at Christiana Care Health System. He is board-certified in surgical critical care and general surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
In addition, he is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Philadelphia and a clinical instructor in surgery at the physician assistant program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Inspira Health Network in Vineland, N.J. He is currently the site director for several local general surgery and emergency residency programs, including PCOM, Inspira and Aria.
A fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and of the American College of Surgeons, he is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Medical Association, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the Society of Simulation in Healthcare.
Jankowski is also an active member of the American Osteopathic Board of Examiners, National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American College of Surgeons in-service exam committee.
In addition, he played a central role in creating and developing the Institute of Clinical Education, Simulation, Innovation and Safety (ICESIS) and is currently the Co-Medical Director of the center. He was also instrumental in developing the ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) program at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Jankowski will lead Crozer’s trauma team, made up of six dedicated full-time trauma surgeons and a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on assisting patients and their families with the unique needs and challenges of the sudden and sometimes catastrophic effects of traumatic injuries.
