Wedding Bells at Crozer-Chester Medical Center
Mr. and Mrs. Marquise Walker of Chester, proud parents of
first child Makayla Kenzie.
April 28, 2014 (Upland, Pa) – Crozer-Keystone Maternity Services delivers more than 3,700 babies each year. The caring and experienced team of maternity nurses at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland can now add "wedding planner" to their list of skills. Proud parents Mr. and Mrs. Marquise Walker, both of Chester, gave birth to their first child, Makayla Kenzie Walker, at 12:57 p.m. Then they were married shortly thereafter in Labor and Delivery by Rev. Joel B. McGee, pastor of Providence Baptist Church and president of the Ministerial Fellowship of Chester and Vicinity.
It was quite a memorable afternoon for the bride, Latanya Walker, and groom, Marquise Walker, following the earlier-than-planned labor. The couple’s little bundle of joy, Makayla, decided to come into this world a little ahead of her due date, at a healthy 7 pounds and 19 inches. The wedding was originally scheduled for tomorrow, April 29, but thanks to some quick planning and the determination and spirit from the couple, the wedding ceremony was held without a hitch in her private room.
