Dr. King earned his divinity degree on Crozer’s site in 1951

Crozer-Chester Medical Center will host a special celebration in remembrance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for employees and members of the local community on Jan. 21.

At 1:30 p.m., members of the MLK Commemorative Committee and Crozer employees will lay a wreath outside of the medical center’s Old Main building, former site of the Crozer Theological Seminary, where Dr. King earned his divinity degree in 1951. A historical marker about Dr. King and the seminary is located in front of the building.

At 2 p.m., a brief program will be held in Crozer’s James E. Clark Education Center. The program will feature inspirational speeches as well as musical performances.
