Crozer-Keystone Surgery Center at Brinton Lake: A Testimonial

The newest addition to the Crozer-Keystone Health System has actually been serving patients for years. The recently renamed Crozer-Keystone Surgery Center at Brinton Lake in Glen Mills, once partially owned by the health system, is now under its full ownership.

The shift in ownership will only serve to enhance the care patients have come to expect. “The service and focus on the patient experience will remain the same,” says Adam Hauser, M.D., medical director of the Surgery Center.

Conveniently located at the Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake, 300 Evergreen Drive, the Center offers patients the efficiency of medical care outside of a hospital setting. “We have all of the same cutting-edge technologies and procedures yet the advantage of a private and quiet environment. People always wonder why they went anywhere else when they see how easy and comfortable it is here,” he says.

Akiya Thornton-Hudson is one such person. She has used the Surgery Center’s services twice — once for each of her children.

Last August, when her 8-year-old daughter Kylah needed an emergency tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, there was no hesitation about choosing the Center. “It’s an excellent place.

The staff is so cheerful and pleasant. My kids feel at ease and everything is very clean,” she says.

Thornton-Hudson was thrilled with the pace of her daughter’s recovery and the accessibility of her providers who were there to answer questions and provide instruction every step of the way.

A week later, Kylah was back to playing as usual. “I would recommend the Center to anyone,” Thornton-Hudson says.

The Center, which accommodates some 60 patients a day, has four operating rooms and one procedure room. Procedures include general surgery, plastic/cosmetic surgery, orthopedics, pain management, oral surgery, pediatric procedures, gynecology, urology and urogynecology. Dr. Hauser says that with the new ownership, the Center is looking to expand into new areas such as vascular procedures.

“For me, the change is very gratifying. I started my career at Crozer-Chester Medical Center after my residency, and then came here and partnered with the health system to build the Surgery Center,” Hauser says. “Now, with the health system’s ownership, we are moving into the 21st century and providing the same level of care we’ve always been known for.”
