Joan Marie Hess of Care Management.

Joan Marie is a social worker in the hospital’s Care Management department. She has been a dedicated member of the DCMH family since August 1997.

Joan Marie first came to work in DCMH’s Social Work Department, and since then has also worked in Crozer-Keystone’s Senior Health Services department, Rehab and Hospice, and most recently she came back to DCMH Care Management. She shines with compassion; Joan Marie listens to her clients’ stories and supports them with kindness and respect, often assisting them when they have difficult decisions to make. She has the ability to calm any intense situation. Joan Marie works endlessly to find the right solution to meet the needs of her patients and their families. She always goes above and beyond and is a tremendous asset to DCMH. One of her coworkers said, “Without her, we would not be the team we are. She is truly one-of-a-kind.” Her supervisor, Karen Crehan, director of Care Management at DCMH, says that “Joan Marie is an extraordinary social worker. She brings a unique blend of knowledge, creativity and compassion to her patients every day. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic are directly responsible for the success of our team. It is a pleasure to have Joan Marie as a member of the Care Management department.”

Joan Marie resides in Media. She has two grown daughters, Lauren and Rachel, who are attending college.

DCMH is privileged to celebrate Joan Marie Hess’ accomplishments, and extremely grateful to have her as part of the team.
