Free Men’s Wellness Program at the Lake
Crozer-Keystone Health System will offer a free “Men’s Wellness Program at the Lake” on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Crozer-Keystone Cancer Center at Brinton Lake, 500 Evergreen Drive in Glen Mills. The event will feature glucose/cholesterol screenings, prostate screenings and educational presentations.
From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., free glucose and cholesterol screenings will be offered. Men who are interested in these screenings should not to eat anything after midnight on that day in order to be eligible. Also from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., men can have their blood work done if they are receiving a prostate screening (fasting is not necessary).
At 9 a.m., attendees can enjoy an educational program, “Risk Factors for Cancer in Men.” Presenters will include Patti Hollenback, R.N., B.S.N., OCN, nurse navigator at Crozer-ChesterMedicalCenter, and Anne Marie Bradley, R.N., nurse manager at the Crozer-KeystoneCancerCenter at BrintonLake.
A continental breakfast will be available beginning at 9 a.m.
From 10 a.m. to noon, free prostate screenings will be available for men who are over 50 years old (40 years old if you are African American or have a family history of prostate cancer). Participants should not be under the care of an urologist, have been previously treated for prostate cancer, or had a PA test within the last year.
