Crozer-Keystone Health System Still Accepting Donations for Thanksgiving Food Drive
Springfield, Pa. – The holidays are quickly approaching. As we “fill ourselves up” with thoughts of turkey and all the trimmings, let’s leave some room for those who are less fortunate than us.
As you make your list for this year’s Thanksgiving feast, include a few extra cans of vegetables, cranberry sauce and boxes of stuffing (or other, non-holiday food items such as tuna, cereal, and peanut butter and jelly) for Crozer-Keystone’s Thanksgiving Food Drive. We would like to extend our thanks to those in our community who have joined us in our mission, but we still have some time to go and are hoping even more people will heed the call and help a friend in need.
So come to the Main Lobby of the Crozer-Keystone hospital that is most convenient for you (Community Hospital in Chester, Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Springfield Hospital in Springfield, and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park) and drop off your donation in the marked collection bin. Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland will place their bin in the Lobby of the Professional Office Building. For security purposes, all lobbies will be under video surveillance.
Local food pantries will distribute everything we collect to the people of Delaware County who need it most: Community Action Agency/Chester Food Shelters; Life Center at 69th Street, Upper Darby; St. Kevin Parish, Springfield; and Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Prospect Park.
As a reminder, we are collecting non-perishable food packaged in cans, boxes, or plastic bottles/jars (no glass, please). Some examples include canned fruits/vegetables, macaroni and cheese, tuna fish or canned meats, cereals, baby formula, bottled water, peanut butter/jelly (in plastic jars), soups, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, and pork and beans.
