Operation Snowflake: DCMH Employees Help Their Own

Three years ago, a group of Delaware County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) employees banded together with a singular goal — to help their own. With this seemingly simple goal in mind, the group, called Operation Snowflake, aimed to provide financial aid to fellow employees in need due to a tragic event or illness.

Since 2010, approximately $25,000 in proceeds from several hospital fundraisers have been donated to staff with a variety of needs — from those with cancer or in need of a sudden surgical procedure to the family of an employee who recently passed away. In December 2013, Operation Snowflake raised an additional $4,000 for their fund through activities and fundraisers, including a holiday gift basket raffle, planned by the committee and hospital employees.
