Thomas Bader, M.D., Named Chief Medical Officer at Crozer

Thomas Bader, M.D., was recently named the new Chief Medical Officer at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
In this new role, Bader will serve as a key member of Crozer’s senior administration. He will work closely with Crozer administrators and medical staff leaders to advance important initiatives in a number of areas, including:
• Cross-department care issues, such as antibiotic stewardship.
• Compliance and credentialing.
• Medical education.
• Clinical research.
• Resource utilization.
• Meeting outside metrics, such as federal pay-for-performance guidelines. • Strategic planning.
Bader will report to Patrick Gavin, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Crozer-Keystone Health System and president of Crozer. He will continue to serve as chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Crozer and will continue to see patients as a member of the practice of Paul Zamostien, M.D. and Karen Simon, M.D.

Bader says, “I’m excited to accept the challenge of being Crozer’s Chief Medical Officer. Since coming to Crozer in 2010, I have had the opportunity to participate in a number of initiatives aimed at growing and enhancing the medical center. I look forward to assuming a larger role in these efforts, working closely with Crozer’s excellent administrative team and its outstanding medical staff officers, chiefs and chairs.”
Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Bader earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University and his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He also earned a master’s degree in Governmental Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
Bader completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. As a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar, he completed a fellowship in OB/GYN, medicine, and biostatistics and epidemiology.
