“Becoming a clinical campus of Temple University School of Medicine is a wonderful opportunity for Crozer-Chester Medical Center,” says Guy Hewlett, M.D., FACOG, director of Medical Education at Crozer. “Students will gain a rewarding experience in order to pursue a successful and productive career.”
During their first and second years of medical school, Crozer Clinical Campus students will be taught by Crozer faculty in a weekly introduction to clinical medicine class. These students will spend their entire third year and most of their fourth year at Crozer completing clinical rotations. The first Crozer Clinical Campus class is expected to graduate in May 2017.
The Crozer Clinical Campus is convenient to Temple medical students because of Crozer’s location. Students will be able to experience and work with a mixed population of patients ranging from urban to suburban residents, all with varying medical issues. Students will also be exposed to all of the advanced services that Crozer offers, including geriatric care, pediatrics, burn care, robotic surgery, cancer care, cardiac care, high-risk obstetrics and more.
“Medical students are given a broad experience, and all of the primary required specialties are covered during our program. We provide a supportive and clinically challenging environment,” Hewlett says.
