C. Nathan Okechukwu, M.D., a board-certified nephrologist, has been named chairman of the Department of Medicine at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. He has served as interim chair since the spring of 2011.
Okechukwu currently serves as an attending physician with the Clinical Renal Associates practice at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. He has been a member of the CKHS medical staff since 2001.
“Dr. Okechukwu has earned the respect of his colleagues for his knowledge and leadership,” says Patrick Gavin, president of Crozer-Chester Medical Center and executive vice president and chief operating officer of Crozer-Keystone Health System.
Okechukwu received his medical degree from the University of Nigeria. He completed his residency at the University of Connecticut and his nephrology fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is board-certified in internal medicine and mephrology, and holds a specialist certificate in hypertension management from the American Society of Hypertension. He also is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland.
