Nardella

Guy Nardella,
M.D.

“At Crozer, we have had a long history of providing truly excellent orthopedic and plastic surgery services to our patients,” says Guy Nardella Jr., M.D., chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Crozer. “Our new partnership with The Philadelphia Hand Center is exciting because it not only expands the medical and surgical care we offer, it gives our patients access to the very latest, most innovative procedures available for hand reconstruction and function restoration.”

With 39 years of experience, PHC is known throughout the region and around the world as the preeminent resource for the latest advances and knowledge in diagnosing and treating injuries, diseases and disorders of the hand and upper extremity. PHC’s team of fellowship-trained physicians lead the way in developing and providing intricate limb-saving techniques and procedures that restore function and quality of life. They are routinely sought out for their expertise: they act as reviewers for peer-reviewed publications; they fellowship-train the next generation of hand specialists; and they host the largest hand therapy meeting in the world each year in Philadelphia.

Zelouf

David S. Zelouf,
M.D.

“We are very excited to partner with Crozer-Keystone in this joint venture,” says David S. Zelouf, M.D., Crozer-Keystone/PHC hand surgeon. “Our goal is simple: To join together the world-renowned specialty upper extremity orthopedists of The Philadelphia Hand Center with the nationally acclaimed Crozer-Keystone Health System. We look forward to integrating our unique expertise in hand and upper extremity care with Crozer-Keystone’s specialists to better serve our patients’ needs. Now, patients and their families no longer have to travel long distances to receive the kind of specialized care that is most often found only in large, urban areas. Our community now has access to all the latest procedures and techniques — performed by the most qualified physicians.”

Providing Surgical Expertise from the Tip of the Finger to the Wrist
In addition to treating common conditions such as fractures and dislocations, ligament and tendon tears, and arthritic conditions, the hand specialists are able to perform much more complex and comprehensive treatment of traumatic injuries and conditions, such as arthroscopic/endoscopic (small incision) procedures, hand/wrist reconstruction, minimally invasive carpal tunnel surgeries and delicate finger reattachment.

Zelouf, who has been on the medical staff at Crozer-Keystone for three years, is now joined by colleagues Blane Sessions, M.D., who has been fellowship-trained by PHC, and Paul Hutchinson, M.D.  PHC surgeons Randall Culp, M.D. and A. Lee Osterman, M.D., also have many years of service with CKHS — Culp has been a member of the medical staff since 1994 and Osterman since 1985.

Malumed

Jeffrey Malumed,

“So many of the patients we treat are first seen in the emergency room,” says Jeffrey Malumed, M.D., president of Premier Orthopaedics and chief of the Section of Orthopedic Surgery at Taylor Hospital. Premier Orthopaedics is the largest orthopedic specialty group in Pennsylvania and offers a full range of medical, surgical and therapeutic services.

“Having The Philadelphia Hand Center join our team gives us the opportunity to provide emergency consultation and treatment throughout the entire health system,” Malumed says. “Every patient who comes to any of our hospitals with a hand injury will have immediate access to expert hand care 24/7. That’s truly exciting for us.”
