Amie Thornton named COO of Crozer-Chester Medical Center
Amie Thornton, an experienced health care administrator, was recently named chief operating officer of Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Thornton comes to Crozer-Keystone after serving as senior vice president of Operations at JFK Medical Center. She has also held administrative roles with St. Michael’s Medical Center, Newark, N.J.; the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, the Tiber Group (a health care consulting firm that is now part of Navigant); and Eastern Mercy Health System.
In this role, Thornton will oversee the day-to-day operations of the medical center. Specifically, she will have direct supervision over a variety of ancillary and support functions, as well as product line development for EMS, Trauma and other key tertiary product lines.
“I am delighted to be part of a medical center with such a distinguished history that plays a critical role in the meeting the needs of the community. I look forward to working closely with the leadership of the Medical Staff and Nursing to move the hospital forward in several key strategic areas. We have a great challenge ahead to improve our patient experience of care and to grow our volume and market share in tertiary services. I am pleased to be part of an excellent team dedicated to the success and growth of the medical center,” Thornton says.
“We are fortunate to have Amie join the Crozer-Keystone team in this important role. Our medical center will benefit from her intelligence and extensive health care experience,” says Patrick Gavin, senior vice president of Hospital Operations for Crozer-Keystone Health System and president of Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
