Walk/Run
More than 900 people on 16 teams participated in the 21st Annual Eagle National Bank 5K Walk/Run to Fight Cancer on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. New and veteran teams rallied together to raise $63,000 for the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center.
One team, Team Susan, was started in remembrance of Susan Reiley, a DCMH nurse who passed away from breast cancer in August 2008 at the age of 28. Despite her illness, Susan handled life with grace, courage and dignity. She remains an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. The Susan Reiley Memorial Fund was established to commemorate Susan’s memory and help ease the financial burden of single women battling cancer at DCMH.
Team Susan had over 100 runners this year, and for the second year in a row successfully raised more than $10,000. The beneficiaries of the Susan Reiley Fund are single women with a breast cancer diagnosis. For instance, within the last year, monies from this fund were able to assist a breast cancer patient who is a single mother of three daughters and several granddaughters with payment of her mortgage and her PECO, oil and water bills.

Giving Corner…..
At this time of year, you may have some people on your gift list who do not need another tchotchke or may even have specifically requested that you do not get them a gift. We have a solution to your predicament: Make a gift in their honor to the Delco Memorial Foundation or Crozer-Chester Foundation.
Your tax-deductible gift would be a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of those we serve at one of our hospitals and honor that special someone at the same time. You can also make a special holiday remembrance gift for someone who has passed on.
If you are interested in these types of gifts, call our Foundation Office for more information at (610) 447-6311.
