This Mother’s Day, Crozer-Keystone Health System employees are
invited to celebrate family by getting a mammogram at work. Wellness Works has
teamed up with Crozer-Keystone’s Diagnostic Imaging departments to offer
convenient employee-only appointment times during the week of May 16-20. Times
include 7 to 8 a.m., lunchtime and 5 to 7 p.m.
During these times, employees are encouraged to bring someone
special — like their mother, sister, daughter or a friend — to have a
mammogram. Not only will you be doing something for your family by taking care
of your health, but you will also receive a free gift – just for having a
mammogram. In addition, one lucky employee will also win a special Wellness
Works gift basket valued at over $100.
“These conveniently scheduled mammograms provide a valuable
opportunity for employees to take care of their health while earning 10 points
on their 2011 Healthy Lifestyle Tracker,” says William Kreider, vice president
of Human Resources for Crozer-Keystone. “We have made sure that all of the
Crozer-Keystone Medical Plans administered by AmeriHealth – the CKHS Advantage,
Advantage PLUS, Select A, Select B, and CKHS Indemnity Plan – cover the full cost of an annual screening
mammogram performed at a
Crozer-Keystone site for women ages 35 and
up.”
The
American Cancer Society encourages women to receive an annual screening
mammogram starting at age 40 and continue for as long as a woman is in good
health. Crozer-Keystone recommends the following as part of a complete breast
health care routine:
- Women over 40 should get an
annual mammogram.
- Women over 40 should conduct
breast self-exams monthly. Women should be aware of the appearance and
feel of their breasts and be able to identify any changes.
- Starting in their 20s, women
should receive a clinical breast exam by a physician every three years,
and annually after age 40. The physician can be a family doctor,
gynecologist or breast specialist.
Scheduling your appointment is easy. Call 1-866-5-CK-XRAY
