Joseph G. Grover, M.D., who is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, has been named chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, succeeding Barry Jacobson, M.D.

Grover has been a part of the DCMH medical staff since 2004 and has previously held a position at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

“I am honored to have been selected as chairman,” Grover says. “I look forward to following in Dr. Jacobson’s footsteps and am eager to project the same hard work and dedication that he set forth in this position.”

Grover is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where he also completed his post-graduate training.

“Dr. Grover will be a true asset to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at DCMH,” says William McCune, president of DCMH. “He will build upon the success of Dr. Jacobson and I look forward to working with him. I am confident that our patients will benefit from his leadership and expertise in the field of OB/GYN.”

Grover, who specializes in the treatment of endometriosis and minimally invasive laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia. He was previously a clinical associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Alleghany University.

Grover has several goals that he would like to accomplish in his new position. He is currently working to standardize protocols to enhance the patient experience for those who deliver at DCMH.

“I want patients to know that when they come to DCMH for a gynecologic issue or to give birth to their child, that they are going to be receiving the best care with the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art equipment,” Grover says.

Aside from his medical career, Grover enjoys spending time with his family and playing guitar. He and his family reside in Wynnewood, Pa.
