Healthplex Undergoes Major Renovations and Introduces Members4Ever Program

The Healthplex Sports Club recently underwent extensive renovations and introduced a new member orientation program, furthering the club’s commitment to the improvement of the health and quality of life for their members and community.

The Healthplex has recently added new strength equipment, including cable columns and circuit pieces (such as a leg press, abdominal machine and triceps press). Also recently added are new dumbbells and barbells and 25 modern spinning bikes, including 12 with mileage computers. Club members can also now enjoy a “functional training” area designated for stretching, medicine ball workouts and other fitness exercises.

Audio-visual upgrades include 18 new plasma televisions, wireless receivers for all cardiovascular pieces, and the addition of the ClubCom media network that provides ambient music and associated music videos on selected plasma televisions. The music and videos are designed to create a healthy energy on the fitness floor, and a vibrant new paint palette creates a warm and engaging atmosphere.

In addition to new equipment and renovations, the Healthplex recently rolled out a new member orientation program called Members4Ever. New members, or even existing members looking to re-commit to health and fitness, are encouraged to participate in this free program. The program provides each member with four orientation sessions led by one of the club’s Fitness Coaches. The sessions teach participants valuable information about healthy and safe workout options, proper nutrition, stress management and other key concepts to promote success.

Carla DeWald, general manager of the Healthplex, says, “What we have recognized is that, for a lot of people, joining a club can be quite overwhelming. Our new orientation helps us to get to know what is important to each member and to more clearly understand his or her goals. From there, we work with the member to design an optimal and manageable plan to achieve those goals. The results are very rewarding for us and for the member."
