Kathy Lally Named Taylor Hospital’s Employee of the Year
Kathy Lally is a graduate of York College, having earned her B.S.N. there. She joined the team at Taylor Hospital in 2003 as a nurse on the Telemetry Unit. Since then, Kathy has demonstrated her dedication to the nursing profession in many ways. She is a Unit-Based Council chair, and a valued member of the Telemetry staff. She is well articulated, professional, and a critical thinker with good problem solving skills.
Kathy is compassionate with both patients and peers. Because of these skills and more, she is well respected by her peers, physicians and all who know her. Kathy is an excellent nurse who consistently works above her job requirements to make everyone’s lives better.
Kathy resides in Philadelphia.
Margaret Gentile Named Springfield Hospital’s Employee of the Year
Margaret Gentile has been a part of the Springfield Hospital family since January 1991. She works as a technologist in the Radiology department.
Margaret was Employee of the Month for September/October 2008. Working on the third shift, it’s important to take on many roles other than your assigned position to help out all departments. Margaret is certainly a team player and her family on the 3rd enjoys working with her.
She resides in Havertown, and working on the third shift gives her more time to spend with her three boys and husband.
Dee Porri Named Taylor Hospital’s Manager of the Year
Dee Porri earned a B.S.N. degree from Villanova University. She began her nursing career in 1981 at Metropolitan Hospital (currently known as Springfield Hospital), then joined the staff at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in 1988 a nurse in the ICU. In 1990, Taylor Hospital was pleased to have Dee join the staff as an Emergency Room nurse. She worked in the ER for 17 years, until transferring into her current role as the Infection Prevention & Control practitioner for Taylor Hospital.
Since 2007, Dee has been successful in developing prevention strategies to reduce our infection control rates and has heightened the awareness among staff. She is an advocate of infection prevention and control, and supports the community in raising awareness through her participation at local events. Dee is always willing to help others and is truly dedicated to creating a safe environment for our patients and staff.
Dee resides in Media, and enjoys spending time with her three daughters, two grandchildren, and significant other, Robert.
Janice Simons Named Springfield Hospital’s Manager of the Year
Janice Simons has been an employee of the Crozer-Keystone Health System since January 1991. She began her career as an R.N. in the Operating Room at Crozer-Chester Medical Center before taking on the role of Clinical Educator for the OR in 1994. Springfield Hospital was fortunate enough to have her accept the position of Surgical Services Manager in February 2003, and Janice is now an integral part of the management team. The Surgical Services department runs efficiently because of her working knowledge of the OR and a no-nonsense management style.
Janice resides in Prospect Park with her husband, daughter and son.
