Lubna M. Zuberi, M.D., who is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, has been named chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Zuberi currently serves as an attending physician with HAN Endocrinology Associates at Crozer and is a consultant at Taylor Hospital and the new center at Springfield Hospital (opening January 2011).

“I am honored to have been appointed to this position,” says Zuberi, who had been associated with Crozer until 2001 and then returned in 2007. “I have had many wonderful experiences working with the staff and administration. I am looking forward to fulfilling my new role and continue the growth of the department.”

Zuberi succeeds Ruth Ann Fitzpatrick, M.D., who continues to serve as the medical director for the Crozer-Keystone Center for Diabetes, located at Springfield Hospital.

A graduate of the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan, Zuberi completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1998.

Zuberi is looking forward to the relocation of HAN Endocrinology from the Center for Family Health-Middletown in Media to Springfield Hospital in January. She believes that it will provide the community with a more centered endocrinology practice in Delaware County.

The Center for Diabetes is located in the same suite at Springfield, providing additional services for patients with diabetes. The office is also conveniently located near radiology, a surgery center and the Healthplex® Sports Club. The new office areas are renovated and spacious to accommodate patients’ treatment needs.
