DCMH Introduces New Lactation Support Services
Delaware County Memorial Hospital offers a variety of services to help working mothers who are breastfeeding. Among the new resources is the Nursing Mother’s Room on the sixth floor of the hospital, which provides a relaxing environment to help women express milk during work hours.
Coordinated by Linda Ivker, RN, the room provides safe and efficient breast pumps, educational materials and a log book to allow mothers to share their feelings and connect with others. The hospital also offers a breastfeeding education class and personal support to help mothers reach their goals. For more information, call 610-394-4796 and leave a message.
Similar services are provided at Crozer-Chester Medical Center by Sue Evans, RN, and Kay Isola, RN.
