PA Department of Health Approves Temporary MRI at Springfield Hospital

After a lengthy process, the Department of Health has approved the use of a temporary MRI at Springfield Hospital. Effective Tuesday, November 20, services will be available for all inpatient and Emergency Department patients and offered Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Springfield Hospital staff and administration will continue to evaluate the need for after hours and weekend coverage as the census increases. We appreciate your patience during the approval process.

Employee Pharmacy Hours – Thanksgiving Holiday

The Employee Pharmacy will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday, Nov. 23 (low census day). The Employee Pharmacy will reopen on Monday, Nov. 26, and operate under normal business hours, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Crozer-Keystone ‘Think Pink’ Mammography Events

Crozer-Keystone Health System will once again host its popular “Think Pink” events, pairing mammography screenings with a free gift. Events will be held throughout the month of November at various Crozer-Keystone Health System locations. In addition to receiving a free gift, patients can enjoy free snacks and refreshments when they come for their appointment. Dates and times are listed below. 

Crozer-Chester Medical Center: 1 to 4 p.m. on November 27 

Springfield Hospital: 4 to 7 p.m. on November 28 

Delaware County Memorial Hospital: 3 to 7 p.m. on November 27

“Talk Out Loud” Cancer Support Group Meeting – Monday, December 3

The Talk Out Loud support group is open to women facing any type of cancer diagnosis, along with their families and friends who love and support them. Our next meeting is on Monday, December 3, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Terrace Conference Room at the Crozer Regional Cancer Center, 2nd Floor, at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Stroke Support Group Meeting – Wednesday, December 12

Crozer-Keystone’s stroke support group provides information and a sense of community to stroke survivors, their caregivers and family members. It provides an opportunity to connect with others and share experiences. Each session will include time for open discussion as well as tips, tools and facts about stroke recovery. The support group is held at Taylor Hospital on the second Wednesday of the month, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the 4th floor Rehab Café. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 12. Gentle Yoga Support Group for Cancer Patients and Caregivers

Join us for a low-impact moving and meditation class that increases flexibility reduces stress and promotes deep healing in the privacy of a small group. Classes involve stretches and seated movements that are adjusted for those with reduced mobility. No mat, special clothing, or experience is necessary. For those familiar with yoga terminology, our classes include Yoga Nidra relaxation techniques, Hatha Yoga Asanas, and the easy flow of Vinyasa Yoga with the goal of moving towards an ease of mind, body, and spirit each week. These sessions are a complimentary service of our cancer program provided to cancer survivors and their caregivers to help promote healing during or after active treatment. CKHS PEARL Program – Caring For Moms & Babies Experiencing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome

Did you know -- Last year, Crozer-Keystone Health System established a center of excellence dedicated to assisting expectant mothers with substance abuse disorders as well as their unborn babies who may be at risk for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome?  The program – named PEARL, an acronym for Prevention, Education, Addiction, Recovery and Linkage - is based at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. 

The PEARL team connects with mothers through outreach with physicians, community agencies, Crozer-Keystone facilities and other healthcare facilities throughout Delaware County. Nurse Navigator, Case Managers and Recovery Specialist aim to begin working with mothers during the perinatal stage and provide ongoing support and ancillary services postnatal until the baby reaches two years of age. PEARL services are available to expectant mothers participating in Keystone First insurance. Expectant mothers with other insurance products who wish to access treatment will be referred by PEARL to the Crozer-Keystone Opioid Treatment Center of Excellence team.
