Crozer-Keystone Health System recently welcomed board-certified hospitalist Onyeka Okonkwo, M.D. as the new chief of the Hospitalist Medicine for the health system. In this role, she will responsible for overseeing the hospitalist programs at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Springfield Hospital and Taylor Hospital.

Crozer-Keystone’s HAN Fertility Center Adds New Location in Havertown

Crozer-Keystone’s HAN Fertility Center, led by medical director Albert El-Roeiy, M.D., recently opened a new office in Havertown, Pa. Located at 2010 West Chester Pike, Suite 350, the office offers greater accessibility to residents of the Main Line and surrounding communities who now do not have to travel far for individualized and specialized fertility care.

Crozer-Chester Medical Library

The Crozer-Chester Medical Library has relocated from the 5th Floor to the Ground Floor, North Wing. The library is accessible to all Crozer-Keystone employees via badge access. The library is staffed Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A study area with access to the hospital network is also available for staff physians and residents. MaryAnne Leonard, CRNP, MSN, DNP Joins Crozer-Keystone Home Health and Hospice as Clinical Nurse Practitioner Specialist

Please join us in welcoming MaryAnne Leonard to Crozer-Keystone Home Health and Hospice as Clinical Nurse Practitioner Specialist. In her role, MaryAnne will use her adult and geriatric nurse practitioner certification and extensive clinical experience to further develop our chronic and end-stage cardiac and respiratory home health and hospice disease management programs, in collaboration with each patient’s physician.

Stroke Support Group

Crozer-Keystone offers a free monthly Stroke Support Group at DCMH and Taylor to provide support, information and a sense of community to those who have suffered from stroke and their family members.

Topics will vary, but may include emotional support, nutrition, secondary stroke prevention, communication, rehabilitation, community resources, medication and caregiver support. We also provide tips, tools and facts that will help people to cope with post-stroke changes.

The group meets next on Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 2:30-4 p.m. in the PM&R Dining Room at DCMH (2nd floor of the main hospital) and Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the 4th floor Rehab Café at Taylor.

Healthline Services is pleased to offer the following CPR classes and “Safe Sitter” Babysitting program:

CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers)

This program includes modules on adult one-rescue CPR, adult two-rescue CPR, infant and child CPR, and adult and pediatric obstructed-airway techniques.

Program will be held from 9a.m. to 2p.m. in the Conference Center at DCMH on Saturday, Feb. 20. Cost is $65 per person. Call (610) 394-1877 or email to register.

CPR (Heartsaver AED: Adult and Pediatric)

This program is for lay persons and includes modules on adult one-rescue CPR, infant and child CPR, and adult and pediatric obstructed-airway techniques.

“Safe Sitter” Babysitting Program

“Safe Sitter” is a one-day course available to youths 11 years and older. The program teaches them how to care for infants and young children. Taught by certified instructors, SafeSitter thoroughly covers the basics of child care. Students learn about, practice and role play in an array of topics including:

  • Safety precautions
  • Rescue breathing techniques
  • Care for a choking infant or child
  • How to recognize emergencies
  • Calling for emergency help

Program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Meeting Room A at DCMH on Monday, Jan. 18. Cost is $50 per person. Call (610) 394-1877 or email to register.
